To All These Stars...

i.
To all these stars:
you squint at the moon's radiance;
even as I push you afar
you keep hold of your complacence.

Huddle together and see
how remarkable you all can be –
echo the envious void which shall enclose
and witness how placidly life flows.

ii.
Resist the strain which pulls you behind -
a sense of darkness: morbidity.
Look down to I and you shall find
that once dormant emotion of tranquillity.

During a night of the most luminous of skies,
I gaze up to you with expectancy –
above me, your satisfaction flies;
soaring around skilfully.

iii.
Closing my lucid eyes, I wish for you;
I hope you remain close to me –
knowing that you love me too
I close the curtains carefully…

…Laying on my bed that night,
I vow I’ll always remember that vibrant sight.
